Merseyrail Sound Station Podcast | June 2015

Welcome to our sixth podcast of 2015 from Merseyrail Sound Station, recorded at Tankfield Studios with our host Jay Hynd. In these monthly podcasts we bring you all you need to know about the most exciting new music in the Merseyside area.

For June’s instalment we bring you news of the 2015 edition of the MERSEYRAIL SOUND STATION PRIZE, which is now live! Get along to one of our upload sites and film yourself playing a song to enter. Full details of what you can win – including recording time and a year of industry advice – as well as all the upload locations, can be found HERE.

On this month’s podcast we have music from OUTFIT, JOHNNY SANDS, RONGORONGO and SUNSTACK JONES, plus we have yet another fantastic live session, this time from the outrageously talented songwriter and producer MERKI WATERS. Merki is playing at AFRICA OYÉ festival in Sefton Park on 20th/21st June, and we have a full preview of the free festival, as well as a competition to win music by the performers and tickets to the afterparty.

And Bido Lito! magazine’s Craig G Pennington joins us as usual to look ahead to some great live music coming up in the area in June and July, as well as looking back at a successful Liverpool Sound City festival.
We also look ahead to Astral Coast Festival at Marine Point in New Brighton, and the ukulele-based Summer Strum in Hoylake, both taking place in July.

You can download the podcast for free from iTunes HERE.
