Merseyrail Sound Station has championed new music in Merseyside since 2012. The project encompasses live activity at festivals such as LIMF, Sound City and Africa Oyé, a monthly podcast and live video sessions plus an annual prize competition culminating in a music festival in a train station at the end of each year.
Sound Station invites local musicians to get involved by entering the prize by sharing their music on the platform’s Facebook page.
Live sessions have featured artists such as Hooton Tennis Club, She Drew The Gun, The Orielles and The Vryll Society.
The Merseyrail Sound Station Festival takes place in one of the networks underground stations each year bringing together musicians who have taken part in the prize and are looking to impress a panel of industry judges.
