Welcome to the first monthly podcast from Merseyrail Sound Station in 2014, recorded at Tankfield Studios with our new host Jay Hynd. In these monthly podcasts we bring you all you need to know about the most exciting new music in the Merseyside area.
For our April 2014 podcast we welcome the fantastic Tea Street Band in to the studio for a live session, and we have an extended chat with them about the trials and tribulations of their debut record release. Each month we’ll be playing some great music from local artists: we kick off 2014 with tracks from NME favourites Circa Waves, newly-nominated GIT Award 2014 ‘One To Watch’ Låpsley, Glossom and Bird.
We also preview the area’s largest music event Liverpool Sound City, and have a competition to win 2 tickets to the 3-day music and conference festival. Craig Pennington from Bido Lito!, The Liverpool Music Magazine, comes in to discuss some live shows he’s looking forward to in our Gig Guide section.
